Now when the eidernesting season has begun we have released most of our horses, and they will be having a holiday during that time. In april we took pictures of a few mares, and I have not got around to share them here until now.

First is our Glenna frá Flugumýri, who we luckily got to buy this winter. She was in further training with Heiða for a few weeks and we are very happy with how she has turned out to be. She is willing and soft to ride and has very soft and good tölt that is always in a clear beat.
We are planning to put her to Strákur frá Vatnsleysu this summer and if everything goes well we will be expecting a splashed white offspring from them next summer :) :)

Hetja is one of very few horses that we are going to keep training during the eider season. She is a pure bred Hindisvík mare. We have some younger siblings of her from the same father; Glæsir frá Hindisvík, and are looking forward to start more of his offsprings.
Hetja is a fourgaiter with high leg action and it will be interesting to see how she will progress with further training.

Melkorka was in the stable for 3 weeks in april because we did so little with her last fall, since she was so easily and therefore quickly started. She had not forgotten anything since last time, but also made a short stop in the stable this time because of the sooner than expected arrival of the eider ducks. Merlkorka is from the first year of Akkur offsprings and we are very fond of them so far. They all are big and handsome and show a lot of clear beat tölt.

Dalía was also in for a few days. She is the first of three siblings after Strákur and Skráma, Skrámurdaughter.
Dalía is a big, good looking, fivegaited mare with big movements. She will turn 4 years old this summer. Below are some pictures of her running free in the riding hall and then 3 pictures when Hanný is for the first time deliberately asking her for tölt.
