We own Akkur together with Björn in Vatnsleysa. He is a fivegaiter with very good basic gaits.
Because of an injury that ocurred when Akkur was a youngster it has not been possible to train him to be shown.
Akkur has the same mother as Andri frá Vatnsleysu (8,51 for riding abilities and 9,06 in B-Flokkur). Their mother, Alísa, got 8,60 for riding abilities as a fourgaiter (there of 9,5 for tölt, trot and form under rider. All shown offsprings of Alísa have received 1.st price.
We first got to know Akkur when we rented him as a 4 year old stallion. You can read about that experiment here.
Akkur has given us big and good looking horses. They have clean and well separated gaits and a specially good tölt.
The injury starting to show
On the picture above you can see signs of the injury Akkur sustained when he was young. The hairs on his croup and to the back are getting white.
